Each of our Colorado multi-day rafting trips include everything you need, just show up with your personal items (clothes, toiletries, ect) and a sleeping bag. If you are traveling light, no worries! We have sleeping bags available for rent.
This trip is for experienced paddlers and adrenaline seekers over 16. Be sure to get a good nights rest and a hearty breakfast; you’ll need it as we navigate you down this challenging section. Listen closely to your expert guide and paddle hard while you drop the steepest and most continuous whitewater on the Arkansas River.
We start the trip in the Granite Gorge, a steep and narrow canyon with class III-IV rapids. Consider this the warm up! Next, you’ll pull over for a quick scout with your guide as you prepare yourself for what’s ahead… full on Class V whitewater with Pine Creek Rapid and Triple Drop! These rapids create a continuous 1.5 mile class V rapid dropping 200 feet per mile over giant boulders and steep pour overs. It’s sure to get the blood pumping!
After maneuvering through Pine Creek Rapid and Triple Drop the trip continues with the infamous class IV+ section, The Numbers. These 6 extra miles of continuous whitewater will be a perfect follow up to your already awesome day. With plenty of views and wildlife to see, take a few moments to look around and appreciate all that the Colorado wilderness has to offer. Take a break to refuel as our professional guide prepares your well deserved and generous lunch. Next, continue downstream to your secluded wilderness campsite just above the Browns Canyon. Feel free to go on a hike, fish in the Arkansas River’s gold medal waters, have one of our certified guides take you rock climbing or just relax as your river guide sets up camp and prepares a gourmet feast for dinner. Let us plan your meals for you, or request your favorites! We are happy to accommodate special dietary requests, vegetarian requests and any restrictions or allergies.
On day 2, wake up to the sounds of nature and the smell of fresh coffee brewing. Our guides will repack camp while you enjoy a hearty breakfast. Next, you will continue through the recently dedicated national monument, Browns Canyon! Colorado’s Arkansas River is truly beautiful, with breathtaking views of Colorado’s famous fourteen thousand foot peaks, and of course, some of the best rapids in the state. Browns Canyon is packed with class III+ rapids that are sure to please. Night two you will camp within Browns Canyon National Monument at one of our peaceful secluded wilderness campsites.
On Day 3 you can relax a little more and enjoy the scenery as you float down a milder section of the Arkansas River. Take it down a notch and relax in the sun, or kick it into gear and learn something new. This section makes for the perfect opportunity to try out inflatable kayaking! Inflatable kayaks known as “Duckies” are a great way to amp up this section, and be in control of your own boat. Our guides will teach you proper techniques, show you the best routes, and watch out for you as you navigate your way down the river.
