Crested Butte, the official wildflower capitol of Colorado, is a quaint  historic old mining town. Now a great year round destination, Crested Butte, offers endless recreational opportunities any time of year. During the summer months enjoy epic mountain biking, hiking, camping, fishing, whitewater rafting and kayaking. During the winter enjoy skiing and snowboarding on Mount Crested Butte, a hidden gem with no lift lines.
From Crested Butte travel through the continental divide over Cottonwood Pass, a very scenic drive reaching 12,000 feet, to get to our Arkansas River location in Buena Vista. The drive is approximately 75 miles and will take you about 1.5 hours, this drive is worth doing even if you are not coming to go white water rafting.
The Arkansas River has great whitewater rafting options from family friendly floats, to great class III family friendly whitewater through Browns Canyon National Monument, to more challenging runs like The Numbers or Pine Creek. There is truly an option for everyone.
